History
"EQdkp is an Open Source DKP system created out of necessity. Many EverQuest guilds wanted to use the point system but didn't have the means or time or will to create their own program for managing it. The main focus of EQdkp is to make loot distribution decisions as easy as possible for guild leaders while still allowing the system to be easy to maintain.
EQdkp was originally created with the notion that one closed-source installation of it would support many guilds' point systems. It was later released as an Open Source project so that it would be much more customizable by each guild." - EQDKP's about page
Plugins
There are many plugins for EQDKP. A plugin is generally a small package which alters or adds some functionality to EQDKP, making it very customizable.
Installation
Most, if not all, plugins are installed by following these simple steps.
- Upload the folder which contains the plugin you want to install into EQDKP's plugin directory. The plugin directory is the directory named "plugin" in the EQDKP root directory.
- Log in as administrator and access the administration panel. There should be an link named "Manage Plugins" to the left, click it.
- You should now have a list of plugins. One of them should be the plugin you just uploaded. There should also be a link named "Install" in the same row, click this to install the plugin.
- Some information about the installation should be displayed and hopefully that the installation was successful.
